What's a spinning stool and a distaff, you ask? These items were used to spin fibers into yarn. The long seat on the stool allowed enough space for the woman to move freely while working. The distaff was used for spinning fibers. The woman sat on the bottom part of the distaff; while the decorative part of the distaff held the fibers to spin. In much of Eastern Europe, distaffs were highly decorated and given to young girls so that when the lady was ready to be married, she would have linens ready for her home.
These 1:48 pieces are laser cut from wood. The "painted" artwork and instructions are included.
