Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures; Oct. 7-8, 2017
Chicago International; April 27-29, 2018.
WORKSHOP: THURSDAY, APRIL 26; 1/4” JOIE DE VIVRE BOOKSHOP
The final piece in the C’est La Vie trilogy, the quarter scale bookshop is inspired by the Art Nouveau period. The unique structure showcases huge stained glass windows; boasts three balconies, ornate “wrought iron” railings and gates, positionable doors, and an octagonal stained glass skylight. Inside, a spiral staircase leads to an interior balcony and an open second floor - perfect for a gallery of books. During class, students will assemble the structure, learn faux painting techniques and an effective way to make realistic looking stained glass. Students will take home stained glass supplies for future projects. Tips for lighting the structure with LEDs will be discussed. Furnishings, a base kit, and lighting will be available for purchase in the sales room. "Joie de vivre" is a French phrase often used in English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life. Come, let's experience some "Joie de vivre!" Contact us for more info.

Shortly after moving to Northern California, Carol decided that it would be fun to share her enthusiasm for miniatures with other like-minded people in this spectacularly beautiful area. And then something cool happened - people actually started coming to the one-day workshops! Maybe it's the fun, learning, and sharing that keeps them coming back? Or perhaps it's the inspirational setting of a historic town located in wine country? Whatever the reason for their success, the workshops are a wonderful opportunity to learn new techniques and enjoy the camraderie of other miniature enthusiasts.
Planning a visit to Northern California? Take a miniature workshop in-between wine tastings! We are located smack dab in wine country, a short drive to the California Coast, and 1 hour from both San Francisco and Oakland airports. Several times throughout the year, we offer 1-day and half-day workshops in this spectacular area.
